It's the best place to buy designer fake stuff... This was the first market we went to and it was like heaven, so much to see and buy but all the shops have pretty much the same stock. Be careful because they will give you a high price when you ask how much... Eg. I bought some shoes, handbags etc... More

It was a bit too busy on the Sat afternoon we stumbled in here. So we had a quick look at the bags the made a bee line for the door. My partner didn't want to follow me around while I looked at things, so I guess I'll need to go again by myself. All of the bags on display... More

Shopping on steroids. Electronics, watches, jewelry, clothing, you name it, they've got it. You MUST barter or you will pay too much. In the end it all evens out I guess. More

I was traveling in Beijing on business and had a Sunday morning to get some quick shopping done before I had to leave. Let me first say that I am not a shopper. I would much rather let my wife handle that job. However, she was really excited to hear about the Pearl Market from me and of course was... More

First take half off the price they tell you then look for the roundest pearl and learn, no marks and a clear white or pink shade. Then dont meet them all the way, 1/2 or just above is a good price More

I have a big regret: I should have bought much more than I did. But Beijing was only the first stop and we wanted to see if we could find different items in Shanghai or in Hong Kong (this last was rather disappointing, as the markets we visited had only a poor choice). The sellers, I mean the girls, were... More

Go early to avoid crowds. They open around 9-9:30am. Try not to go on a Saturday, Sunday or Friday afternoon. Expect to spend a minimum of a couple of hours shopping. Take your time. Look around. Ask the vendors to show you a range of qualities, sizes and colors - natural and dyed - so you can see the differences... More

If you have time for only one shopping trip, go here. This was by far our best shopping experience in China. Bargain HARD! Vendors are well versed in making money off shy Westerners. My favorite line from one salesperson after I got her down to 25% of her opening price: "You're killing me!" When I stood my ground, I got... More

Bought large pearls from Vivian Pearls and had them strung as a necklace but the clasp they used was poor quality and lasted only 1 wearing. My jewelers say it was not good to use with 10mm pearls. Vivian pearls refuses to make an adjustment on my credit card to allow me to get them restrung here in the USA.... More
