We booked a private cooking class with a market visit and a condiments lesson beforehand. It was really a great experience with a professional chinese chef and a passionate owner! We asked for some special dishes (squirell fish, braised chicken & vegetables) which we were trained - it was good fun and we are looking forward to try the recipes...

I recently visited Beijing for the 3rd time. I was looking to do some different things so I searched the TA site for unusual things to do. I signed up for a cooking class through HIAS Gourmet. This class included a trip to the local market to shop for ingredients and then a hands on cooking class in a hutong....
