Our visit was spoiled a little by the excessive hassle, mostly from the women, who would not leave us alone. But enjoyed looking into Nubian house and seeing the pet crocodiles and meeting the school teacher. The village seemed to be turned over almost exclusively for tourists and looked nothing like other non-tourist villages we saw. More

We took a felucca to a Nubian village and entered one of the private homes there for some tea with our guide. Other tourists were an Egyptian family. The "village" is a series of small tourist shops with owners desperately trying to get the attention of the few visitors there are. It is very, very sad to see. These people... More

I found the visit to the Nubian Village to be one of the highlights of my trip to Egypt. During my visit I was invited to sit and have a conversation with a Nubian family. over a cup of tea and a Coca-Cola we laughed and exchanged stories of our very different lives. I can a way with a sense... More

Our guide recommended a tour to a Nubian village in Aswan, we tried it and were very disappointed. They bring you in a nubian house where they have three crocodiles of different sizes, hundred tourists holding them while they take picture of them. This was probably the worst experience we had in Egypt. It was really depressing and humiliating for... More

The boat trip was nice. The village is one big shopping area with tours all around. We had lunch in à Nubian house, paid to much for not so good food. The people who lived in the house kept asking money, although everything was in luxes in the tour. More

Definitely visit the nubian village, you really get a sense of how people live in a culture that is very different than Egypt's. More

There are probably many such villages around. We were brought to a Nubian village via motor boat by our guide. The boat ride was breezy and peaceful. Gave me a similar experience to a township tour I did in South Africa. My wife really liked the hot dinner that was served and we had hibiscus tea on the rooftop of... More

Went on a spur of the moment (what shall we do this afternoon sort of thing) tour to the Nubain Village from our hotel Moevenpick in Aswan. We did not do the camel trek, but rather took a private motor boat there. The lunch that was served to us upon arrival was really to die for....it was sorta a "hot... More

Don't go expecting to see anything too exciting, but if you like seeing how other cultures live, then it is nice to see. My felucca captain took me to his parents home here, so it was nice to see inside their shops and houses. Not overly impressive to most I guess, but I really liked it. More

We took a 40 minute boat ride to get to the Nubian Village. The boat ride was very enjoyable with views of The Aga Khan Memorial and desert sand dunes along the river. The Nubian village itself was not very memorable and there is not much to see. We visited a house which had a couple of Nile crocodiles in... More
