The 11 named gardens, spread over 10 hectares, are all distinctly different, unfolding as a series of surprises as you follow the meandering pathways. At nearly 200m above sea level, the escarpment garden offers the visitor breath-taking views over Mele Bay. Within the gardens are The Distillery, where essential oils from Vanuatu are extracted and made into soaps, candles and other health and beauty products, the Gift Shop and The Cafe. Allow 1.5 hours, or at least 2 hours if you stay for lunch, or wander around at your leisure for the whole day if you wish. Admission fee applies. « less

Owners and staff very helpful and accommodating. Only arriving there late in the afternoon, they stayed to guide us through the gardens. Just a gorgeous garden, even though the flowers on many aren't at their best til September. Cafe was also lovely, the cakes a treat! More

The Summit has wonderful views over Devils Point Road, bay and Hideaway Island, stunning gardens arranged in 'rooms' with interesting landscaping design and architectural features. The essential oil making facilities were interesting and a good range of products were available for purchase. BUT I found an additional product made by the Summit people, in Traverso Boucherie in Port Vila that... More

Saw this in the in-flight magazine and arranged a visit - collected by Summit staff and taken up a very steep drive to 'The Summit'. The guided walk through the gardens was beautiful with stunning vegetation and a very knowledgeable guide. The views out across the ocean were stunning and the restaurants offered excellent food with further opportunities to take... More

Once having reached the top of a mountain you are transported into one of the most beautiful gardens in the island paradise of Vanuatu. A walk through this magnificent garden takes about an hour with a guide. After the guided walk you are free to explore all the areas of the garden, and take in the views over Port Vila... More

The Summit Gardens do not yet feature in guide books and dont seem to be well known. We had a little trouble finding a bus driver to take us there (it was a cruise ship day). Once we stumbled across Richard the fabulous young driver that took us there and came back to get us we were not disappointed. The... More

After driving up quite possibly the steepest road on earth we came across the Summit Gardens and were pleasantly surprised. A nice introduction to the local flora and fauna, with a sweeping view back over Mele and down the coast. Nice and cool too! More

What a beautiful garden!!! We were staying in a villa near the road up to these gardens and had been in Vanuatu a few days before we decided to go and investigate. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality and variety of gardens, as well as the stunning views!!! We paid our entrance fee which entitled us to return as... More

The drive up to The Summit Gardens is hair-raisingly steep but well worth it once you get there. The views across the bay are marvelous and the gardens are immaculately maintained. There are many native plants as well as some non-native. Our guide did a very good job of explaining what they were and what they were used for. The... More

This place was insanely beautiful and a photographer's paradise. Apparently the flowers are most in bloom in September but in April I still thought it was fantastic. The team is doing a great job up there and I fully support them. The beauty products from the gift shop have been lovely to use! If you are not into gardens, nature... More
