Every Sunday there is a different street shut down from cars so that bikes can rule the road (at least that is what I was told). In addition, there are carts selling food and carts selling bike parts and helping with repairs. There are also permanent bike lanes on some streets that run in the middle of wide medians, with... Ciclovia is amazing. I really enjoy it, you have the streets to yourself and everyone is out. Depending on the wheather, I do it every sunday. As a tipp for everyone that doesnt have a bike, I get mine on the weekend from bogotravel tours. its a family run business in La Candelaria. the owners are amazing and they also... More

If you visit Bogota, may sure you stay to enjoy the Ciclovia on a Sunday morning. The city is filled with aggressive drivers during the week, and is a lousy place to ride bikes or even cross the street as a pedestrian. But, on Sundays, from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m., all that changes - on certain major thoroughfares in... More

I love to run so I really enjoyed being able to do it on a visit to a city outside my country amidst other people who also enjoy sports. But even if you are not a sport lover I would recommend you to go just out of curiosity.

I think this is one of my favorite activities in Bogota... if you pretend to stay there on sunday you can't lose this plan... a lot of important avenues are closed for cars and everybody can go there with their bikes, skates or just walking... you also can find sport activities coordinated by the local government where you can practice... The city essentially closes down main roads all throughout Bogota on Sundays from 6am-2pm to allow bicyclists, runners, rollerbladers, walkers, etc. (anything without a motor is allowed) to roam freely through the city without the annoyance or danger of cars sharing the road with you. It is a great way to see the city and a lot of locals really... More

Other cities should take note how popular this is! What a great way to spend the day with family enjoying the streets of a great city without rushing by in a car or taxi. Very well planned and executed by the officials of Bogota. Street vendors selling food, snacks, drinks and bicycle repairs. Rent a bike from one of many... More

Loved going to the ciclovia every Sunday I was in Bogota. Just be careful, since you are 2600 meters above sea level, you might get dizzy if you exercise as soon as you arrive to Bogota.

The ciclovia is a program in Bogota where the city government close major street so people can go and do exercises on sundays! It goes all over Bogota. You can rent a bike or do some walking. Also a few places have free aerobes, rumba classes etc. You have to find you where because every neighborhood is different. The streets... More
