Carrera 15(as well as some other streets) is closed for traffic from 7am - 2pm. Our hotel (Hotel Cite) had bikes which their guests could use for free. Very popular with locals, we took a walk along some of the ciclovia and saw locals enjoying their Sunday. Depends which part you cycle or walk along as to how interesting the scenery is, but I enjoyed getting out of the tourist area and in amongst locals. More

You should definitely experience this -- whether by bike or on foot. It's an idea now replicated in many cities around the world -- done well here despite the congestion of the city. Every Sunday from around 9-2, also holiday Mondays, and one night ciclovia in December (6th?). More
