A lively entrance into the Old City. It brings you right into the Arabian Quarter with it's many smells and cacophony of sounds. We stopped at one of the cafes to have Israeli and Palestinian beer. It is a good place to observe the way of life here. Many shops with colourful crafts, be ready to bargain and buy!

Having extensively walked the Old City in and out, I think as an entry gate this is the one. It has been well preserved and restored and it leads you directly into the Arab area/market, which was for us the most colorful and useful, as we shopped for food there. There is a lot of tacky stuff in the markets...
