Hi everyone The tomb of the rock is one of the most beautiful mosques. Situated in the large area that it is accessible to non muslims from only one entrance next to the western wall. The timings are also extremely tight as it opens from 0730 in the morning to 1130 and one hour in thr afternoon. The mosque is... More

I'd gotten up early for the 7.30am opening. There were not many tourists about and it was so peaceful & stunning. There were women praying, and men reading the Quran. I paid an old man to explain the history of the building & especially the architecture as I have a great interest in the subject. I spent over an hour... More

If you've ever seen an aerial picture of Jerusalem, you've seen the beaming golden dome of this amazing mosque. I happen to be Muslim, so of course it holds a special meaning for me, but also as a lover of travel and culture in general, I consider this to be one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen! I... More

There are a few visiting hours each week that the area is accessible to non-Muslims via the ramp in the women's section of the Western Wall. The visiting hours are listed in one of the handouts in the Tourist Info Office inside the Jaffa Gate. When we visited, the hours began around 7:30 am and was well worth getting up... More

Hands down the best religious/historic site I have ever seen. Contrary to many of the reviews on here, non-muslims are definitely allowed to visit except that it has to be arranged well ahead of time. Simply put, you cannot visit Jerusalem and not tour the whole area of Al-Aqsa which includes the Dome of the Rock, Al-Aqsa Mosque, Al-Buraq Mosque,... More

The Dome of the Rock has become the symbol of Jerusalem all over the world. Its stunning golden dome and blue tiles look different depending on the time of day. The gorgeous gardens surrounding the Dome, the Haram El Sharif (the Noble sanctuary, known to Jews as Temple Mount) offer a bird’s eye view on all of Jerusalem. The inside... More

After a long line to get up to the Temple Mount, it would have been cooler if you could go inside without being a Muslim.

This building is a beautiful sight, made even more so by the fact that this was the Holy Temple from the Bible. You are not allowed to go inside, but you can walk around it and it is quite an astonishing building. Would recommend.

This is a truly beautiful building on the outside (most people mistake it for a mosque, but it isn't a mosque). However, the interiors (in case you manage to get yourself inside, which is almost impossible for non-Muslims) – are quite plane and not impressive at all. The so called "foundation stone" is beneath the shrine. It's of the upmost... More

It is something that shows up on all photographs of Jerusalem. It sure is a beautiful building and I got some very beautiful pictures of this mosque. I was quite in awe to know that it was 3rd holiest place for Muslims after Mecca and Medina. Indeed felt great to be here! Only regret, non-Muslims cannot enter the mosque -... More
