May is still uncrowded. I didn't have to wait for anything or push through elbow-to-elbow people. I recommend starting from the North entrance and working your way down, unless you like to start out and save the WOW factor for the very end. I went solo, no tour group, and now wish I had joined a tour to tell me... More

We particularly liked the terraced houses, well worth the extra 15TL to get in. And of course the latrines were a delight! More

Surely one of the modern "wonders". Three of us engaged a guide at the top entrance and Mustaffa was worth the 120lira for three hours of insight into this amazing place. Such interesting detail. And definitely worth the extra 15L each to go thro the terrace houses. So many highlights and a photo at every corner. The highlight of 2... More

We visited Ephesus with our 3 boys (ages 8, 4 and 4) and we thoroughly enjoyed it. These are some of the best Roman ruins we've seen, equal to Jerash in Jordan. Note that there is a separate entrance fee for the Terrace Houses (15 TL) but in my opinion, the fee is worth it as the Terrace Houses were... More

Ephesus is a truly amazing place. As a lover of all things ancient, I wondered if anything could really top the best of Italy and Greece. I believe this does. More

What an amazing awakening to look into the past - into the ancient ways and means of people who lived in this place 3000 years before us! And they even installed an underground sewer system... something that other countries and continents are still trying to come to terms with! The amount of marble, the level of skills, the artistic decorations,... More

Fabulous place with amazing ruins - some of which are in pretty good shape. It was awfully crowded - We were sometimes swamped by tour groups. It is still worth going to. Skip the audio guide. More

Early morning or late afternoon is the best time to visit this oustanding place. I would suggest to take a tour guide otherwise you will miss a lot of interesting stories and places. I do regret I did not take a guide.... More

Went from our hotel on the free shuttle, didn't get any hassle from guides, hired an audio tape & made our own way round, so much more time to wander than on an organized trip, defiantly recommend paying the extra to see the merchants houses, amazing inside. Caught the local dolmus back from the end of the car park . More

This is one of the top spots in Turkey and definitely one of the top spots of the world when it comes to ruins/historic sites. I loved it as I really like that kind of attraction. The place is very big with two entrances. If you like historic sites, plan to spend some hours there. Also do not miss the... More
