After taking your happy snaps of the aqueduct, walk down into the subway under the main road intersection. It's an underground bicycle shop with floor to ceiling racks of bicycles and kids taking batman themed bikes for test drives. Just wild!

The walk to the Valens Aqueduct (completed 378 A.D.) is definitely worth your time, especially if you're a history buff. Only a portion of the original structure remains and a roadway now runs through the structure; however it’s still quite interesting to look at up close.
There’s a small park in front of the structure and mosques located nearby.

Unless you are into small, crumbling Aqueducts after walking about 2Km up a steep hill from Istanbul center (tourist bit), I would recommend that you waste a few hours away in a cafe or bar. Of all the wonderful sights and experiences available in the splendid city this is not one of them!
