I went here twice, tried two different restaurants and didn't think the mezes were as amazing as I had heard. I actually thought the menus were a bit limiting and overpriced. However, the ambience is amazing so just for that, I would say check it out. I figured it was touristy but my local Turkish friend recommended it and said... More

I was there in March 2013. Actually, I had passed this place for so many times...I was always curious about it, because, once long time ago I met a Russian man, who had been a writer and he told me a nice story about it. He said, that in the times of Russian immigration to Constantinople(that time) in 1919-1924 some... More

Going right from Istiklal, this former flower market is now filled with fresh fish and vegetables, as well as some souvenirs and must-try mussles. Worth visiting for a nice strall and quick food.

Once a famous meeting location for the artists, poets, writers etc. You can go there anytime you want to have something to eat and drink while you are in Taksim area.

Interesting array of spices and teas along with what you'd usually find. Walk through it to get top the Grand Bazaar if you'd like to see, but make sure you look up the connection between the two first - there are many curious side-streets here! Tip: You may find hand-made fabric and pottery here near the front street entrance, which... More

Cicek Pasaji is one of the most popular places in Taksim/Beyoglu. It is a must for the tourists to eat dinner in this place and to try Turkish raki, meze (Turkish appetizers), with fish and salad and feel the spirit with the songs of the gypsy musicians.

This is a good place to experience a typical turkish dinner. There are many appetizers to choose from as well as fresh fish. Raki is a must. Most places have gypsy musicians that will come around playing music. I don't find it much different from the many other fish restaurant areas you will find throughout Istanbul. Just be sure to... it is a very interesting place to try one meal as you can find all sorts of turkish food and mezes. the restaurants are always full at nights, especially on weekends, though it is always noisy.
