conveniently located and very busy at lunchtime, this is the equivalent of fast food. My wife and I have eaten lunch here twice in the past 12 months. Consistently good "comfort" food. My favorite is the meatballs Izmir style, which is served with roast potatoes. See also my review from last year in the restaurant section. More

My guidebook recommended this restaurant. Turned out to be a good place for dinner. Had vine leaves which were delicious. For main course I had a massive courgette stuffed with some sort of soft cheese. It was good despite its appearance. My friend had a stuffed aubergine which she loved. It was the best thing she ate during the whole... More

Just okay, perhaps resting on its historic past. Have a rice pudding for me! More

We visited the Pudding Shop as it was listed in a guide book...and we spotted it as we walked from the Sultanahmet tram station towards the Cisterna Basiica. It may have had earned a place in history ...but unfortunately the restaurant has also stayed in the past. It is now a very standard fast food restaurant with some interesting press... More

Wow, the Pudding shop is located in central Istanbul, closeby is the Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, Saint Sophia, and fabulous public bathouse. All are walking distance from the Pudding Shop. Back in the day, you could park your car in the public lot outside the pudding shop, and pay $2.00 for 12 hours. I don't know the rate currently, but... More

We came in for lunch and noticed that everyone was essentially ordering the same dish, kofte, so we did too. It was just okay, as were the puddings. As we left, we saw dozens of already plated kofte waiting to be served, with the chefs making more as fast as they could. Visit it if you want to see the... More

We stopped in since it has history. The food was good but is over priced for other restaurants in the area and the ambiance is nothing special. There is no reason to go out of your way for a visit here. More

The place certainly has a history so if you want to go there solely for that go ahead. But don't expect to have anything amazing in the way of food. The non-pudding fare was disappointing, the pudding was fine. More

The Pudding Shop is famous for being the meeting spot for many hippies traveling in the 60's & 70's. They would visit the Pudding Shop and leave notes looking for people to travel with, catch rides, etc. We had lunch there and the food was really good. The food is pre-made and you tell the food line servers what you... More

We really enjoyed our lunch here. The food is good, not outstanding, but the atmosphere and service more than makes up for it. It was one of my favourite places to eat out on our trip. More
