Huge collection of archeological treasures in beautiful buildings. We saw pieces there from Greece that were better than any we saw in Greece! It is a very easy walk from Hagia Sophia and next to the park. More

This place is fantastic! I wish we had more time to spend there. It is ranked as one of the most important museums in the world and all yours to see for only 10 turkish lira (about $5.80). The museum surprised me with its quality and its number of amazing artifacts it has. Well worth the price of admission. If you are a history buff this is a must see! More

This museum had items to rival the British Museum! The chain that used to be used across the golden horn to keep ships out, wall hangings from Babylon, statues from the Hittites, and the most amazing sarcophogus I've ever seen. Do not miss this museum! More

Not far from the Topkapi Palace, the Archeological Museum is in three buildings. The Museum of the Ancient Orient contains some really good pieces - large and small, including tiled images of lions from the Ishtar Gate, which are really memorable.
