The Spice Bazaar/ Egyptian Bazaar is a gem and a fantastically photogenic place. The main drag is quite touristy (still interesting though) and you will get hassled a bit. Have a look, take a few photos but do not shop there. Go beyond it, to the very back, where the locals shop. This is where things get interesting and much... More

People at work at had asked me to bring back Turkish Delight and we found ourselves in the Misir Carsisi when my wife suggested it would be a good time to buy some. We had a guide showing us around Istanbul and we asked for her recommendation. She suggested Nuri Spice Shop, where the proprietor proceeded to load up two... More

It's a wonderful market with a lot of kind of spices, teas and other typical items (lamps, ashtrays, etc) as in north africa. If you need any spices you can't find by you at home, just go there, you'll find everything for a very good price! And also if you don't need anything, just enjoy the amazing smells an colour!! More

If you go to Grand Bazaar, you are only 15 minutes walk away from the Egyptian Bazaar. You go down from Grand Bazaar until you reach the "Egyption spice market" as they call it. Although it's relatively a small place but you have to go there.. and buy organic dried fruits (fig is the best) in addition to Loukom, pistachios,... More

Fantastic shop in the Spice Bazaar. Great products like turkish coffee, halva, spices, teas and much more all vaccuum packed. We were allowed to bring all our purchases back into Australia. Very friendly staff especially Alper Kesici. Did not feel under any pressure to buy. Extremely helpful without being pushy. Thanks for the great experience and excellent prices. regards Debbie... We went there on a Saturday morning and the place was packed with locals and tourists. It is a great place to experience the real Turkey. The aromas of spices is in the air and the colors are so attracting. The merchants will try to lure you into their shops with samples of Turkish delight and other goodies. I make... More

Be sure to go to the spice shop at the end first (where everyone is in red shirts) to benchmark your prices. The guys near the front are more likely to hustle you. Despite the boasts that this little market is trustworthy because "locals also shop there" - don't be fooled into thinking that shopkeepers are above conning a few... More

The smell of the spices surround you in this must see in Istanbul. It is packed with shops focusing more on spices and food. The turkish delight is everywhere and very delicious. It offers a great deal of culture not to be missed. Pick up some apple tea while you are there, it is the best tea I have tasted.... More

Walked to the Spice Market (Egyptian Bazaar) from the Grand Bazaar and discovered lots of local shops along the way (cheaper shops). The Egyptian Market is a great Turrkish Delight experience! Most of the stalls here sell food- nuts, caviar, honey, spices, tea, essential oils, dried fruit, baklava and the fabulous Turkish delights! They also offer lots of samples along... More
