Old Town is beautiful and interesting . The sights of Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and the colors and smells of the Grand Bazaar were incredible. Wish I was there! More

Take good walking shoes to visit Istanbul. Walking can be challenging at times. The streets and walkways have uneven pavement. There also are a lot of stairs and thresholds in the museums and mosques. Istanbul however will charm you with an abundance of finely crafted textiles and leathers. You will also find those omnipresent blue eyes . All in good... More

We had a fantastic 9 day private tour organised entirely by Argeus, My father is especially interested in history and they tailored a tour that was pitched perfectly from our excellent, knowledgable and personable guide Faruk Basibuyuk, the choice of quirky specialist hotels (especially loved Nisanyan Everi in Sirince) and the delicious restaurants (see other reviews). We went to Afrodisias... More

It had been 20 years since my last visit to Istanbul. The main changes I noticed are that the streets and environs are much cleaner than before. Easy to walk around and the tram system is a breeze to use. People are friendly and helpful with directions if you are lost. Do yourself a favour, just get out and walk... More

The Old Town has such a relaxed feel to it. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful, and the streets are wide with lots of places to eat - outside as well as in. More

It's hard to visit old Istanbul without finding something either charming, fascinating, or simply delightful in some way on a very regular basis. More

Don't really know the difference. the oldest part of Istanbul is Sultanahmet which is stunning and the only place to be to see all the sites if you don't have a lot of time. More

I just return from a cruise with a port of call to istanbul. I joined a private tour for the first day. It was great to have a knowlege guide for all the must see's. People are very friendly and "overly friendly" at the Grand Barrzad. This is one place I wouldn't want to return. The closed by Spice Market... More
