Although we didn't visit any other, more "touristy" hamams, we can say that this place really comes through as authenthic. We were the only tourists, all the other customers were natives. Our whole experience was great, my lady had one tiny complaint about foam getting in her eyes, but that was it. Still a 5/5 and totally worth the 50TL... More

My wife and I visited this hamam on Monday midday and it was virtually empty. It is very easy to find: when you get to the Kadirga square. If you face towards the see, the building with hamam will be in one of the houses behind you. I can describe the men’s section. I was given a key to my... More

This is a review of the women's baths. The experience of the men may be quite different. What to bring - If my tale below doesn't put you off, then bring the following to improve your experience: hairbrush, spare undies (if you do not plan to go butt naked which is quite acceptable), hair conditioner, moisturiser (to apply afterwards), flip-flops... We sought out this place on friends recommendation. The building itself is a neighborhood historic hamam, it is well kept, but in no way ritzy or flashy like the others in the center. The cost was half of the "touristy" hamams, and the place was actually being used by other Turks. For 40 Lira each we (me in the male... More

Reading reviews has actually no point. I read all of them and thought this must be it. Inexpensive, historical, not far from all the sights... But I was wrong. The guy who was giving me a massage had waited until I lost my eyes and then he tried to put his thing into my mouth. Yes, this did happen. I... More

While in Istanbul, we were looking for a hamam off the tourist tracks. While those that advertise mostly charge around 80 - 120 Lira (35 - 50 Euros), this one only takes 40 for a whole treatment. Located just 5 minutes from the popular Cemberlitas hamam (just straight South towards the Marmara Sea on a residential street), it's simple but... More

I got many suggestions of good hamams before going to Istanbul but all kind of expensive. When I was at a bazaar I got a tip about a good and cheap hamam and since my money stream was kind of low I decided to go. And it was great - more treatment for less money! Kadriga is a small old... More

I'd never been to a hamam before, so wondered what I was letting myself in for when I arrived, as it is pretty basic. We were greeted by two men who just showed us a card with the choices then led us outside, up some stairs and into what turned out to be the women's section. This was overseen by... More

Back completely clean and rejuvenated the Hammam. You get assigned a room in which you completed your clothes and stuff can leave. Then you go in the hot sauna. Then you get someone to do with a glove to scrub and wash. Then get on the stone in the middle level, where the man you completely massaged with a kind... More

its not a spa so if you are expecting to be pampered with expensive products you have got the wrong place. If you want a great authentic hamam full body scrub, soap massage and hairwash with chai tea while you dry your hair then this is the place for you. Forget your inhibitions and get over yourself. Its the real... More
