If you are a history buff, (I am), then you will find this interesting, for you do get a sense of being in the thick of the battle for Constantinople in 1453. We escewed the audio guides for we knew the history, but they would be useful for those less au fait. The museum exhibits leading to the Panorama itself... More

Maybe we got something wrong. But it all seemed too nationalistic and celebrating a war event. More

If you want to see the extreme heroistic and nationalit view on Conquest of Istanbul, you can go there. It is just a dome where alll the walls are decorated in 3d image of the 1453 siege. Even as an ethnicly Turkish person, I found this place extremely nationalistic. More

The art work is amazing - so detailed! Not one of the top sites to see if you only have a couple of days, but worth it if you're in Istanbul longer. I saw it as part of a morning tour combined with other sites in the area. More

We went there after hearing about their 3D panoramic museum. There is a lot of history in that place, but unfortunately every picture depicting the 1453 battle is written in Turkish language. Even with the audio guide, it wasn't that much fun. However when we went up in the virtual 3D museum, the view was really spectacular. The whole battle... More

This Panorama 1453 Historical Museum is something you must visit to get into the times of when and how Sultan Mehmed II conquered Istanbul in 1453. Recommended to get an audio-guide (for YTL5=$2.5) to get a better understanding what each part of the panorama means. General audio delivery is very impressive and, along with historical cannon, military inventory and outfit,... More

You see, you listen, you smell and learn. This dome which depicts the conquering of Bysants in 1453 is not to be missed. First time in history cannons were used, to shoot holes in the city wall. Everything is so well painted, as if you are there right in the battle. The scenery is right from where you actually are!... More

This is a fairly new attraction. Very easy to get to on the splendid Tramway - get off at Topkapi station (NOT the Topkapi Palace but near the Topkapi Gate). It is a giant circular panorama of the Turkish army battering down the Byzantine walls of the City in 1453, with the aid of huge cannons, and about to enter... More

Created in 2005, this dome-shaped panorama leaves very bright flashbacks. We used audio-guide. It was difficult to follow the chronological order (digits seemed to be entangled), still a lot of interesting info to listen. The audio accompaniment in the panorama hall was worth all the praise. More

Panorama 1453 Museum is a new and very modern museum. The most interesting part is the panoramic dome representing the 1453 conquest of Constantinople by Mehmed the Conqueror. Modern technology used in this museum changes your usual museum visitor role, turning you from a viewer of historical artifacts to a witness of the historical event. The place is interesting to...
