There are many cruises from the port in Istanbul and many people touting them. The one we chose lasted about 11/2 hours which I found to be enough. I enjoyed the trip because it gave me yet another view of Istanbul. As we went up the Bosphorus it was amazing to see even more mosques and old historic buildings, residences... More

The area around the Galata bridge if filled with sights and sounds. The bright red and gold decorated food cats and boats lining the river, the ferries taking commuters and tourists to their destinations and the Mosques rising form the bank are all part of the ambiance. More

It took the short trip (about 3 hours) and really enjoyed it. I loved the bridge, the glance at the villas by the seas as well as the remains of the castles of Moameth . More

We had a superb boat trip from Istanbul, landing for afternoon tea on the Asia side. Some of the mansions on the waterside have to be seen to be believed! There is a never ending flow of ships to and from the Black Sea ports (the Bosphorus is Russia's only sea route to the Mediteranean and the Atlantic) There is... More

Have you seen the pictures from Bosphorus? The water is blue as the pictures, and the skyline is amazing. More

The nature was generous...but the turkish people work on the marvellous constructions- real art in architecture- on both sides as welll as the bridges between the two continents is fantastic. More

We elected to take a ferry ride across the strait versus the tourist trap boat ride. Nice views of everything we wanted to see. The return trip at night was very nice and highly recommended. If you do take a boat, we recommend taking a more private boat that doesn't stay out all morning/afternoon. More

We took the trip up the Bosphorus from Eminonu on a dull day but still really enjoyed the experience, staying in the Sullivan for warmth and popping out to take photographs. The kiosk where you buy your tickets is the last one before the Galata Bridge, so be prepared to run the gauntlet of enthusiastic boatman trying to sell you... More
