I walked around Historic/Down town area of Europe side of Istanbul area. I walked along Tram track road to not miss the road as the side roads are confusing. This is the only way to see culture and different parts of Istanbul. We were warmly greeted by locals. We tasted lot of local food varieties while walking

Walking in streets of Istanbul is a great experience. We walked around almost all of the Sultanahmet district and parts of Taksim area. It was a wonderful experience.

It is not possible to walk safely in Istanbul safely due to the crowd and the absence of the sidewalks for the people and families especially with young children. Istanbul streets are not the family friendly places for the families with kids.

Walking through the streets of of historic areas is the best way to experience the flavor of Istanbul.
