A beautiful and entertaining performance, lively enough to be captivating even for the neophyte (especially as it is a succession of short abstracts of different kinds). The performance is made in front of the National Museum's front door which enhances the whole show. A must go! More

Very interesting show in a great atmosphere. Beware of moskitoes and if you have back problems seats are not so great. Apart from this, would recommend the show to anyone there. Funny, entertaining, semi professional. Great. There is not much cultural events going on in phnom penh, so do not miss out on this one. More

After a hot and dusty, exhausting and wonderful day in Phnom Penh it is a delightful treat to go to the National Museum and watch the talented and exuberant Children of Bassac. It is a win-win becasue you get to be entertained and learn of the culture of Cambodia, however you are at the same time helping keep the Children... More

The Children of Bassac is the name of a theater group of young men and women from underprivileged backgrounds. They are selected on the basis of their artistic potential and then trained in traditional Khmer dance. If you have been to Siem Reap and seen Apsara performances there, you can look forward to a few of those here, too, as... More

In Phnom Penh for 3 nights. One of those nights fell on a Thursday. I had seen this on here and thought it would be worth a punt, the money goes to the kids and as the other reviewers have said $18 is expensive for Cambodia but it all goes back to the kids and it is ABSOLUTELY worth it.... More

The Children of Bassac is a performing arts group comprised of 24 dancers aged 16 -21 years of age, all of whom live in the Bassac community. While spening 3 days in Phnom Penh (2.-4.March 2012) this show was our personal highlight! The dance group showing traditional Apsara-dances seemed very professional and well-coordinated. The setting in front of the National Museum is amazing. It's great to see that the cultural heritage of Cambodia is very much alive. More

Whenever I have friends visiting from overseas I encourage them to go to this show. There are few opportunities to see traditional dance (folk or classical) in Phnom Penh. Furthermore the quality of the show and the setting are extraordinary. Though it might be considered quite expensive proceeds go towards Cambodian Living Arts and the students they support. The show... More
