It's like stepping back in time visiting this Forbidden City. It's being restored to it's true grandeur after the damage that was inflicted on it during the American War. Bullet holes are still in evidence in places. More

It remains original of Nguyen Reign - the last one in Vietnam. You have chance to see Palace and unique archutecture inside such as Five Phoenix Tower, Nine Urn Dynasties. Come here and see King and his family lived and worked in the past. More

Quite a long walk all the way from the South to the North Gates but one gets to see interesting sites along the way like the Noon Gate through which most visitors would enter the site, straight on, one encounters the grand Hall of Supreme Harmony (if you turn left at the Noon Gate, you will see the 9 DYnastic... More

Unfortunately most parts off the purple city were distroyed during the Vietnamn war but it is still great to see some parts and particular the former living area of the last emperors mother. More

Heavily bombed by the Americans, add your dollar to the restoration effort and spend a lazy afternoon away from the crowds wondering at what was lost here in the early 70s and being thankful that at least some still remains. More

I am sure this place gets crowded during peak times, so plan to come early or late to have a quieter time. We visited when there was light rain, and were able to get a lot of pictures entirely without people. Either way, this place should not be missed on a tour of Hue. More
