Performances are ad hoc in terms of regular scheduling so you'll have to be lucky in terms of timing but if there is a show scheduled (regardless of language or musical style) have your hotel concierge book a ticket - the architectural finish within this Opera House is beautiful and quite extraordinary. Built at the turn of last century during... More

We walked through the heat and traffic and found it. All I can say is it's big and beautiful...not much else. Walk by, take a photo and move on. Surrounded by high end designer clothing stores. More

We were told by the ticket office lady there were no show for the days we stayed in Hanoi. But we did come back at night and found that there was a show, free of charge. It was a cuban folkdance organised by the embassy. So we went in! You can only get in this historic building when you attend... More

You cannot visit Hanoi without going to the opera house. Little to no opera takes place there, but a variety of classical and more modern western and Vietnamese concerts with lots of visiting international performers. Worth a visit if only to see the inside and don't forget the great 1911 restaurant built into the basement and entered from the garden... More

The Opera House still feels like it needs a renovation even if there was one. It is quite grand inside but the seating could be better. Based on the concert I went to it could also be more heavily attended as it was less than half full. Also, similar to when I went years ago people still talk on the... More

Quite close to the southern end of the Lake in Central Hanoi. Walking distance. Sits in the middle of a square and is such a beautiful building. We wanted to go to a performance while we were there but unfortunately there wasn't anything at that time that we wanted to see. More

Seeing this stunning exact opera house of paris was fantastic. Set in the french quarter of hanoi surrounded by hotels, restaurants and impressively at the foot of a large roundabout. We went for a show of the vietnamese national orchestra which was fantastic very good symphony, no standout soloists but great harmony. Highly recommended for anyone in Hanoi to go... More
