The trip was one of the pristine locations that one should not miss if visiting Viet Nam.
But be wary of the boat people. Half way the trip on the water they start selling goods. Asking tips. The best part is a paddler from another boat wants to buy some thing for the paddler of our boat saying they are...

Also called Dry Halong Bay, the Tam Coc Caves are a long day trip (110 Klms each way) from Hanoi. The roads are terrible and you have to appreciate the skill of the drivers when you make it there and back without incident/accident. The scenery on the river is wonderful and the people rowing the boats, mainly women and mostly...

This is nothing more than Halong Bay on a river. It was nice to see, but the effort to stay over in Ninh Binh was really not worth the hassle or time. If this is a must see, take a day tour from Hanoi which also includes Hoa Lu.

An excellent over view of the founding of Vietnam as a nation at its original capitol and a very nice tour up river under three grottoes where most people navigating the boats rowed with their feet rather than hands and arms. The buffet lunch was good too.

It took 2 hours to travel from Hanoi to Hoa Lu, but we saw a different part of Vietnam which was not admired while in Hanoi....

The temple at Hua Lu is nothing special, certainly not worth the long car journey from Hanoi. At the entrance we also had to suffer the hard sell from photographers who want you to buy their snaps. However, the boat trip through some very special countryside more than made up for the temple. We took the trip on a Sunday...

I did not go with Exotissimo Travel - I went with a private tour guide who was recommended to me by a friend. The drive from Hanoi is harrowing - sometimes a two-lane road with crazy drivers. It took 2 hours, but I saw a different part of Vietnam that I did not see while in Hanoi and Saigon. Taking...

Temple is not anything special, but the nature around it is beautiful
A boat trip is the most beautiful thing I have experienced in Vietnam.
I will not describe a lot, I do not want to diminish the beauty of the ride.
You simply have to experience that feeling, nature, hills, river ...
