Halong Ginger was a good choice for me by my Agent - the boat wasn't too large and had traditional varnished internal dark woodwork everywhere rather than modern white wipe down materials. It was visually well maintained in direct contrast to some of the other vessels seen. The cabin was a reasonable size, with a panoramic outside window. Bathroom was... More

We just had a 3day/2nite trip to Halong Bay on Imperial. We booked thru Hau Thu Travel 532 Cua Dai in Hoi An. We were assured by this agency this was a top notch boat, we paid $125.00US each. The pictures in their brochure looked wonderful. What we got a truly a piece of junk! It was shabby, grubby, food... More

Halong bay is just amazing with or without a blue sky, which is hard to get there. I went on a 3day 2 night tour, which I highly reccommend as the bay is so big and beautiful! One night u spend on the boat and the second one you have an option to stay on the bangalo or a hotel... More

Don't have a lot of new info to share but overall enjoyed the day trip to Halong Bay. At USD 50 for a full day trip with lunch I had average expectations and these expectations were met. We were picked up on time and spent about 3.5 hours driving to Halong Bay. We enjoyed the boat cruise (including basic lunch),... More

We were on a day trip and we were dropped off at Monkey Island for a swim. One of the travellers had counted his money and then left it in his pack. There was one person working the boat. We all went for a visit and came back an hour later. It was noticed that the pack had been opened... More

Before going to Vietnam, I was in two minds to chose between a day tour and one night on the junk boat and due to my limited time in Hanoi I opted for the day tour. After arriving in Hanoi, I walked in to one of the local tour agency I found near to my hotel called Sinh travels on... More

Our Overnight cruise on Ginger was at the suggestion of a travel agent. Typically wary of glowing reviews by agents, but in this instance they were spot on. Included in our ~21 hour cruise was lunch, canapés, dinner; early morning tea/coffee and pastry, brunch; cave tour, swim off the boat and trip to a floating village; tai chi on the... More

What a fantastic time we had on the Marguerite cruise. Our cruise assistant (Jack Sparrow) was the best. He was friendly, helpful and informative. He took great care of us. We were lucky to have perfect weather and as we were on the 2 night cruise were paired with a lovely British family of 4. Room was comfortable. Food was... More

well, once you are in Hanoi "they" say it's a must see to have a day trip to Halong bay, a unesco world heritage, actually I had read about that a lot and I was thinking that it's going to be a piece of paradise, it was beautiful , but for me having seen phi phi island and james bond... More

Please let this serve as a warning so you don't make the same mistake as we did. We decided to DIY a day trip to Halong Bay. Got ourselves to the Pier when we were approached my a guy in a shirt with a fancy-looking folder showing his tour. He explained that his boat was just about to leave as... More
