The beach was quite, water was very warm. It's a nice beach to chill and relax, not much going on around the beach. The are sun beds and beach umbrella's for 200 Baht.

A long Beach with many small simple restaurants but very cheap and tasty food! Order thaifood. Kata Beach is near and it is smaller. Take a longtailboat to Paradise Beach only 10 min and it is the Paradise!! Sun and snorkling. From Karon you must order a taxi and go to Liam Sing Beach and this is a smaller but... More

Just over the hill from the stifling and at times unpleasant Patong, is this wonderful Beach, clean ordered well laid out .....a world away from Patong, ....you genuinely get the "holiday" feel here , there are a number of good restaurants , the sand is pristine , well worth the 400 baht taxi fare Watch the under currents , there... A very beautiful beach to look at and even paddle, but full of rips and quite dangerous. Swim with extreme caution!

The beach was extremely dirty (there had been big swell recently); there are often rip tides here; it's very commercialised and busy; and we just weren't particularly impressed. We did like the very southern end of Karon beach though.

The beach itself is a long crescent - look out for the dragon monument roughly half way along, next to the inlet. Good choice of shops, bars, restaurants directly opposite the beach, as well as small cafe's on the beach itself. Took usual precaution of NOT going anywhere near the Jetski's - warned about being ripped off.

Karon beach is great for people watching but not really great for swimming with rips and heavy surf at times. Being charged 100 baht for using chairs and umbrellas on the beach is a tourist trap but the beach is very clean and the sand golden. It appeared that the beaches were also not patrolled that well and surf lifesavers... More

Don't get me wrong, Karon Beach has white sand, clear waters, plenty of tropical fish to see with your snorkel gear, relatively clean, and the typical beach shops/markets along the "board walk." However, it is a busy place both on the beach and in town. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax, this is not it. People... More
