The area was close to everything, we so many restaurant to choose from and many activities to do, was a good choice, as we came for our son's wedding at The Chaweng Regent hotel and it was a magical experience and it was so romantic having an elephant bringing the bride and her father along the beach to the hotel,... If you want a nice beach, this is not the place. Chaweng Beach area is the main drag so it is busy. The main streets here are the best for shopping in one area (not really that great shopping for quality items). The street smells rotten (from the drains or sewer?) - couldn't eat at the restaurants by this street... More

Chaweng is the busiest and the most happening beach of samui. It reminded me a lot of patong beach- phuket. The water is clear and aquamarine in color, the sand is soft and off white to white in certain parts, at many parts you can walk for over 200 mtrs into the sea. There are loads of restaurants, cafes, pubs,... More

A long street filled with night markets and restaurants. This is a very happening and exciting place but is like ghost town from before 3pm. It's tough to even find a place to have lunch. Staff they sell pretty much the same as night markets in rest of Thailand. Very loud music and mobile advertising cars circle around every few... More

Sea not as clear as Lamai and the town a bit seedier. Plenty of restaurants and pub where you can taste a great variety of foods. The market food area especially good value and cooked in front of you. More

We stayed at the end of Chaweng beach and it was a lovely beach, very clean! We walked along it at night also and was beautiful to sight and was the nightly storms (although scary). The water was shallow but this meant we could walk right out in the sea and find our own little island of sand... More

We walked along Chaweng Beach at night to choose from one of the restaurant to have our dinner at, they all looked nice and we've had some lovely times just walking along, enjoying the beautiful scenery. More
