Entrance fee was 100 baht, and we paid extra for the monorail and aquarium. We didn't have time to visit the snow dome. There is so much to see, you need to allow a full day. Some of our party were struggling with the gradient of the walkways, but there were plenty of benches where they could rest while the... More

Great zoo, well set out and great enclosures for the animals. Felt closer to the animals than most other zoos. Highly recommend for anyone, we were 4 women in late 40s - early 50s and we had a great day. Would be especially great for families. The main attraction for us going to the zoo was for the Pandas but... More

The zoo is on the hill and very beautiful, but as a asian people, animals in the zoo are very popular in any other zoos. More

The entrance fee is cheap but then you get charged for pretty much everything else: the pandas, aquarium, snow dome and transport. The exhibits are pretty small. The animals do not look well cared for. I didn't see a single zookeeper. Only members of staff wanting to charge you to feed the animals. The nocturnal creatures cages were horrible, and... More

The aquarium was expensive and cool. Most everything else was terrifying. The sea otter had no water in his cement cell. He was literally crying and pleading to get out of his paddock. The pygmy hippo had no clean water. It had one small puddle to lie in. There was a baby elephant chained to a tree on the zoo... More

you definitely need a full day here, at least! i only had a couple of hours, and we got pretty lost at the back part of the park. missed a few enclosures b/c the size of the park is so big, its easy to get lost, even with a map. lots and lots and lots of walking. they do have... More

The good things about Chiang Mai Zoo are the aquarium and the gigantic outdoor area for birds. If those two can be good, maybe there's hope for the mermals. The conditions for them were horrible. Narrow, dirty and hot. You could see the animals weren't doing well. Worst was the exhibition for the nightliving creatures. Among others, the beautiful species... More

Great value for money. The nominal entrance fee is increased for non Thais but this is very common throughout Thailand. Inside you can walk around but the zoo covers a considerable area and beware of some very steep hills! (or take the tram). There is an additional payment to see the pandas but we found it to be very worthwhile.... More

great bang for the buck, one of the best values around. amazed at the variety of animals to see; kids really loved feeding the elephants and hippos especially. nicely laid out and organized, and if the walk gets to you (it's big) jump on the tram that circumnavigates the park. hint - it's best to start to the left and...
