Wanting a special dinner, we ventured out to try this top market restaurant for a friend departing Bangkok. I suggest you look at the menu and prices before you sit down as this restaurant is way outside most peoples range. Food was OK (small portions). Service was great.

The roof top skybar is amazing, a "must see" for Bangkok. The views from sunset to night are beautiful BUT please make sure you are dressed accordingly to their strict and heavily enforced dress code. Remember the movie, Hangover 2 ? Quite a bit of it was filmed at the Sirocco Bar, 62 floors up in the Sate Tower. Fantastic views over the city. There's also a smaller bar on the 64th floor, with an outdoor section, worth visiting.

Many tourists probably go there after it got famous with the movie "hangover 2", but I believe it is worth a detour. Drinks are expensive but you can imagine why when you see the amazing view overlooking the river. Head up to the martini bar that overhangs the top floor of the building for the most fantastic view of the city. It is no wonder why this was chosen for the opening scene of Hangover II

The view is great. But lately it's been quite touristy. If you are looking for the similar style of this but a bit more upscale (in terms of atmosphere & the diners), I'd rather recommend 'Vertigo' at Banyan Tree on Sathorn Road.
