I work in transport, and Skytrain is often seen as a revolution in transport for Bangkok since it reduced travel times substantially for those who use it. It is anyway expensive for many locals and lacks integration with the metro. It should also have better access (via buses or so) with the older area of Bangkok (Rattanakosin).
