Best to always have change (coins) and be prepared to climb stairs. Also it might be hot outside but A/C temperatures internally in the train carriages can be sub-zero ! More

A very convenient way to travel around the city is via the skytrain. Traffic in Bangkok during the day is rather congested so this is a reliable means of transportation. Most major department stores have a skytrain station nearby. One note is that the air-conditioning in the skytrains is freezing cold so please bring a thin layer of clothing to... More

I work in transport, and Skytrain is often seen as a revolution in transport for Bangkok since it reduced travel times substantially for those who use it. It is anyway expensive for many locals and lacks integration with the metro. It should also have better access (via buses or so) with the older area of Bangkok (Rattanakosin). More
