The pick-up is conveniently located at Emporium Suites next to the Emporium Mall in Sukhumvit road (Phrom Pong BTS Skytrain station) You are then taken to a local market in the nearby Khlong Toei District, and then to the cooking school also in Khlong Toei, which is a poor neighbourhood. The teacher nicknamed "poo" (the thai word for crab) is... More

I like in Bangkok and I have been in Poo's school for several times now. I even take family who come to visit to experience something special: cooking with Poo. I must warn you: Cooking Pad Thai may be real eye-opener. In Poo's kitchen it is soooo delicious that it won't taste any good when cooked by someone else after... More

I took my partner to the cooking with poo thai cooking as a surprise gift. We had a great time. What I really loved about this course was seeing how simple and quick thai cooking can be. Going around the market was a great experience, it was nice to have a guide to learn about the different goods and Poo... More

I thoroughly enjoyed this cooking class. The trip to the market was a very interesting experience to see all the different kinds of foods. The class was lots of fun and Poo was a great teacher and was very funny. I would definitely recommend this class. More

The Cooking with Poo cooking class might be the best and most fun thing you could do as a tourist in Bangkok. After pick-up by the Emporium shopping mall you will be driven to the Klongtoey Market where Ms. Poo will buy everything needed for the cooking class. The visit to the market is a great in itself, the smells,... More

Khun Poo is the Jamie Oliver of Bangkok. She cares passionately about the poor and helping them to learn how to cook. Helping Hands is an organisation in the largest slum district and helps people to start businesses by loaning them money. To help finance the project Poo takes you on a tour of Bangkok´s biggest early-morning food market, then... More

Wow. You start at a fancy hotel for pickup but then you are taken to an open market and get to see the real Bangkok, Thailand. Nothing beats the sights and sounds as you walk through to "shop" for ingredients. Once you are done in the market you are whisked away to a local neighborhood in Bangkok and get to... More

First off, Poo and her team (Tai and Nut) are hard-working people who are charming, sincere, and committed to their cause. Without that enthusiasm, this enterprise would not exist. This class melded tourism and culture together in a wonderful way, creating an original way of experiencing Bangkok. I think how Helping Hands is reviewed really depends on what you are... More

Cooking with Poo was ABSOLUTELY an incredible experience. Firstly, what an amazing CAUSE and organization! Helping Hands is committed to investing in the local community of Klong Toei and supporting amazing micro-entrepreneurs, who work so hard everyday to care for their children and families. Poo is such an inspiration! What a woman of courage and influence! She has used the... More
