Terribly popular with the locals on weekends. So much so, that the over commercialised town and boulevard are a bit much. Excellent food and some nice cafes as well, though.

I took LRT to Tamsui. The Iron Egg is a famous food here. The shops selling clothing, accessories as usual as night market. We saw the beach and there are lots of Taiwanese hanging around with their family for relaxing.it is quite far from the city, about 45 mins LRT ride.
This was one of the highlights of my visit. There is a great path to walk on down by the waterfront with lots of touristy, kitchsy shops and food vendors (selling similar foods to the night markets) to stroll down and then you can return back towards the MRT station on a parallel road with more shops, a temple, etc....

Tamshui is where most tourist to Taipei will not missed. It's a great old street that you can try your shooting skills, shop and eat at the same time.. It is famous for fishball, fish cakes and something called the 阿给 which is also made of fish.
if you have nothing to do in Taipei, heading Tamshui, take a relax afternoon and evening there with your loved one.
Visited on a Sunday afternoon, extremely crowded with locals & tourists. Very interesting places. Excellent place to watch sunset. Worth to visit.
Was originally planning to spend only 2-3 hours here ended up spending the whole afternoon and evening there.
Walk along the shoreline was great, breeze, a lot of artists performing their talent along the street, very nice and peaceful sunset, lot’s of local food stall there, venture through the town and going through the little alley to hunt of unique...

A lot of stores selling food along the streets. A great place to enjoy the local delicacies and local foodstuff. Take a stroll along the river side to view the sunset.
This is one of the loveliest places in Taiwan. Nice place for dates,or just to hangout with your friends. Fisherman's warf- must visit! Love bridge or how it is called is wonderful in the evening!
We had a lovely walk through Tamsui, down the old street and back by the river. Amazing people watching! It was nice to see what Taiwan looked like by the water and it was very easy to get to. Take the red line to the end and there you are. Great little shops along the Old Street and lots to...
