A special classic building in the middle of Taipei downtown. Lots of people meet here. Also the famous gathering place of gays. Most bars beside this building are gay bars at night. Inside the building there's a little market for you to buy handicrafts and design t-shirts and others.

I visited the night market and hung out in the bars behind the red house. I went back during the day, the art around the Red House was fantastic and i had missed it at night. It was very quite there during the day, but the shops across the rd were alive with people. I did some great shopping there....

If your in the ximendeng area you should stop by this old theater. There are small local artsy boutiques inside that sell t-shirts, handmade items, toys and random stuff. Also you should walk around the streets behind the theater, there are some good local food shops around.

This is where the GLBT converge. Everything. You have great boutiques cater for the community, great cafes nearby too.
