We (my wife and I) went on an amazing climb up Kilimanjaro last month with Adventure Alternative, which is a UK company with it's own office and staff in Tanzania. I really can't recommend them enough. Most companies outsource all their customers or trekkers to teh cheapest team on the ground but Adventure Alternative runs all it's own teams and... More

Safari! Safari! Safari! A Swahili word meaning a long journey. And a long journey or safari back to Africa is what I had been waiting for very many years and it happened in Jan/Feb 2012. Having lived in the UK for the last ten years, the desire to go back home was overwhelming. A friend of mine from the UK... More

My son (24) and I (51) just finished our Kilimanjaro climb. We are both experienced backpackers and were prepared for the trip. I have a few observations that may be helpful to others. We went during rainy season, and the crowds were non-existent. We chose the Rongai route, which approaches from the dry north side and decends via the Marangu... More

ClimbKili is a great company to do your Kilimanjaro climb and also for safaris. I did a climb with them back in Dec 2011 taking the 8 day Lemosho route. Tiffany was terrific in organizing the trip for me including a 1 day private Ngorongoro trip and also helping me book a seperate hotel in Arusha. The 8 day Lemosho... More

Before I get into the specifics of the report, a few pointers based on our experience: 1.) We used Climb Kili to book our trip (climbkili.com). Like everyone, I spent probably more time then I should have winnowing down the tour companies, but I think we selected the right one and based on our experience, I think it was worth... More

Surely the most exhausting and tiring hike I ever made, but it was worthwhile every step! Pole pole! I did the 5 days tour because short of time but it is worthwhile to do it in 7 days, with acclimation days and off the "coca cola route" which is vers busy. Still, the 5 days were wondful! More

A friend and I just got back from the most fantastic trip ever to Mount Kilimanjaro and a 5 days safari. We booked our 7 days Machame trip through Karibu Adventure. The whole experience was wonderful. Frank from Karibu Adventure was pleasant and easy to work with and from the moment we arrived at the Kili airport we were taken... More

Themba and his crew at Forster Safaris went above and beyond for us when we arrived in Arusha for our 7 Day Mount Kilimanjaro climb doing the Machame route. They checked all of our gear before departure and provided us with anything we were missing. Our guides Philamon and Richard were AMAZING!!!!! Those guys continuously supported us along with our...
