Lovely building and one of the only mosques in Morocco that can be visited by non-muslims. A bit of a pain that you have to take a 45 min tour.
We took the 1 hr tour with a well-versed English speaking guide. Learned all kinds of interesting things including that the doors are made of titanium (more expensive than gold) to prevent corrosion as it's situated beside the sea! 120 dh entry, well worth it.
This is one of the most majestic structure I ever visited. So big, so detailed and everything is at the right place. If you also think to the history and to the short time they needed to build it, you can just stay there for a while, totally astonished. The only pity was not to have the possibility to visit... More
This is a beautiful place to visit. We did this during the hours of darkness and it's lit up superbly. A truly awesome piece of architecture which, in my opinion, makes Casablanca worth a visit, without it I'd suggest no even bothering with Casablanca. Can be seen from a distance, sits right on the beach a short walk from eateries... More
It's a magnificent architectural building. A lot of details and on a great location next to the ocean. I had a tour with five other people. The guide could tell a lot of things about the mosque, but she had a annoying attitude.
This mosque is impressive. When on a tour bus, all the buses stop at the same time, 1bathroom - you have to buy toilet paper if you want to use it. Hole in the floor, not what a young girl was expecting in such an extravagant place. Was better than I expected. The ornate carvings are beautiful, and the views... More
Worth the time and money. Our guide was well informed although appeared quite bored with the topic and or with us. Just the scale of this mosque is worth seeing. It was truly built on the backs of the poor. The setting on the Atlantic is quite spectacular.
The mosque itself is breathe taking and beautiful. The architecture, colors, everything just wows you. The women section is in the top of the mosque, so if you are interested in going to pray just follow the women walking towards the mosque entrance after you hear the call to prayer. I would give this an "excellent" but i have decided... More
It is a holy place for praying.... 115,000 people ... ( no women inside) But besides that, it is a great sample of Modern Arabic Architecture, nicely located by the beach, that worth the visit.
You will have the privilege to visit the mosk with a guide only. Keep in mind that you are a foreigner, tourist and non-muslim, if this applies and it is not really certain if you are really welcome.
