This place is great for snorkeling if you are able to get past all of the rocks. Once you are out a little further, the visibility in the water is phenomenal. We saw hundreds of fish... if not thousands. Because of the type of water, it is extremely easy to float without much kicking. I did not like that I... More

This is a lot better than Haunama Bay, a lot more accessible, free, and parking is in a small parking lot just off the highway above the beach. This is the best snorkeling spot on Oahu, considering, the cost (free), accessiblility, rock formation, coral, and clarity of the water. There is a sandy entry point on the left side of... More

This was the best! We were able to snorkel with three sea turtles and just hang out with them as they found a bite to eat. Water was a bit murky but cleared up the farther out we went. There is also a small pool for beginners as well. Parking was free and there were also restrooms nearby, although not... More

Water gets very shallow during low tides and protected by a wall of lava, so it's quite safe for kids. High tides better for good swimmers. There is a good super market, including a deli & fresh made sushi, across the street to buy food for a picnic. More

We are staying just down the road from sharks cove so we have been several times. It is great, bring your snorkeling gear and a picnic! I recommend going in the morning, (7-8am) you will be the only person there, and the quieter it is, the more fish you will see. We saw a wide variety of fish, especially when... More

We happened on this cove around sunset. It was the prettiest on North Shore Oahu. The cove is surrounded by rocks and the waves were so large that they crashed over the rocks. It was also a good place if you wanted to snorkel. Best pictures of sunsets on the island. More

I believe this place is a sancutary for fish, and fishing is prohibited. This make the place full of fish and turtles. It's great during the summer, but the winter months bring huge ocean swells, making anywhere but the inner lagoon unswimmable. Go during the summer if you want to swim here. More

Snorkel and see the lava tubes in the summer when the water is flat and watch the 20-30 ft waves funnel in and crash in the winter More

Saw a large amount of tropical fish snorkeling around in the right hand side of the area. Swam with schools of a few different fish-was really cool! Get there early before alot of tourists show up but not before 9am. There were a few homeless people that live there all the time & case the cars. We left before getting... More

My family really enjoyed Sharks Cove. This was the first real snorkeling trip for my 8 year old daughter and she absolutely loved it. We saw so many fish, easily more than I saw at Haunama Bay back in March. The day we went the waves were very light and getting out into the cove was very easy. As I... More
