The chocolate dipped macadamia shortbread cookies are to die for! Our tour bus stopped here and we were glad. There were tasters and a wide variety of yummy things to buy. More

It's a huge place and you can get all sorts of yummy goodies! I brought home so much stuff for friends and family and it all traveled well. You can also watch them hand dip the cookies! More

Big Island Candies was an absolutely delicious experience! From macadamia nuts covered in chocolate to mouth-watering shortbreads we thoroughly enjoyed browsing and indulging in their products. We came away with a bag full of goodies to bring home and enoy with friends and family. Well done Big Island Candies! Annette and Tony Western Australia More

Some said it was pricey but I found it to be the same as buying Ghiradelli or Godiva. It has a great texture and incorporated the Hawai'ian flavors wonderfully. You get free samples when you visit the store in Hilo, so I strongly recommend going to the source if you can. More

Off the beaten path but if you have a few minutes in Hilo, its a refreshing stop. The store is bright and clean with free samples of their delicious treats, clean restrooms and friendly staff. Loved the shortbread cookies! More

My wife and I were brought here on a day tour of Hilo. It is the factory and store for Big Island Candies. The store is nicely decorated with lots and lots of relatively expensive chocolate assortments to buy. There is a good ice cream/drink counter in t he store if you're in the mood for a snack. At the... More

From the moment we arrived, they opened the front door for us and greeted us with a sample of their shortbread cookie, chocolate covered macadamia nuts and kona coffee. The showroom was lovely with tons of free samples, which is nice since you don't always want to take a risk on buying something without trying it. Not much of a... More

This is definitely the place to visit for the chocolate lover in all of us. The only thing you have to figure out is how to stop yourself from buying too much. The showroom display is changed frequently to add some charm to the entrance. In addition, you can view the candy making process right from the showroom. More

The factory wasn't in action while we were there but they did have samples out of a lot of their products. The shortbread cookies and pineapple, coconut, macadamia nut popcorn were winners. More

We were in HIlo for 9 days in July--a great city by the way. Those that say there is nothing to do here don't appreciate all the gems one can find if they do some reading first, and are willing to enjoy the real Hawaiian experience, not the touristy one. We filled every one of our 9 days hiking, swimming,... More
