The museum has a good collection of dress types and colors for both men and women Mayans over a long period of time. It is interesting but not exciting to challenging except for people wanting to become intensely involved in clothing.

I would not go to Guatemala without a visit to the Museo Ixchel. It is wonderful. I love it and have gone there numerous times and have taken many visitors there. I've been in this country for over 20 years and even being used to seeing Mayans dressed in their 'traje', it was interesting to see the exhibits at this museum. The book shop is well stocked and I bought a couple of books there. If you're going to be in the city, its well worth a visit.

We loved this museum. It is a little small but extremely interesting. I would recommend watching at least one of the three short films they have there.
