It is only 4-5 blocks from the market and really worth it. The tombs and mausoleums are painted in bright colors and they have different shapes. Very different and something else to do in Chichi other than the market!

This is one of the most "active" cemeteries I have ever visited. There are a constant stream of families coming to visit their ancestors. There are several Mayan fire cleansing ceremony sites within the cemetery which are interesting to watch. Do not miss the shrine to the "chicken bus drivers" and other drivers. It is one of a kind.

The cemetary looked like a colorful village because its above earth grave stones were painted in pastel colors.

Seeing it at a distance made us have to go a get a closer look, and take many pictures...

The Mayan cemetery, as the photos show, is a riot of color. Here again the traditional Mayan blends with the Catholic. There is a constant parade of incense burners, candle lighters, small animal sacrifices, shaman and just the faithful.
It is definitely a must see.

Our guide took us around, but, at times the people performing the rituals seemed angry at the unwanted visitors. The general scene reminded us of the cemeteries in New Orleans. Worth a quick look, but it's an average attraction.
