The Global Village was more extensive and interesting than we had expected. Examples of homes built in many different countries offer insight into how people live with the furnishings. I was wishing we had our grandchildren along so they... More

Very informative! It's within walking distance of downtown and is well worth the time (about an hour) to visit.

It was fascinating to walk from 'country to country' seeing what is being built there. We also enjoyed the film explaining the program in North America and places far away from this continent also.

Because I am a volunteer construction worker with Habitat, I wanted to visit the Global Village to learn more about the international program. I found the Global Village to be a great motivational and informative place.

Walk through an area of extreme poverty to get a sense of how many people live. Then see the small but sturdy homes that Habitat for Humanity is building to move people out of poverty and into a new life.

Americus is a railroad crossing from way back and it's not hard to cross the tracks and stil have a worthwhile experience. In fact, crossing the tracks in Americus opens the door to a world view. Habitat for Humanity's Global Village offers not only the stark housing realities of the Third World, but also shows the alternatives -- healthy and... More

Wow! We passed this by on our first trip to the Americus/Plains area. What a mistake. This was one of the most interesting places we have visited in all our travels. A must do if you anywhere near. Gave us a whole new perspective of the Habitat for Humanity organization!!

Self-guided tour of types of Habitat homes - peaceful and eye opening. Outside so be prepared for weather.
