We went on a cruise ship excursion. It took a while to get there, but the tour guide spent the time telling us about the areas through which we were traveling. The site was wonderful. You can still climb 3 of the structures, but because of vandalism, that may be short lived. Go while you can still climb. You won't... More

“Cool Mayan site without a lot of tourists”

We had been to Tikal a couple of days before, and Xunantunich was a nice contrast to Tikal. While Tikal isn't overrun with tourists, you would definitely cross paths with the occasional tourists.
