A beautiful old home that survived the civil war. The heart of pine floors are just gorgeous! The house is filled with antiques. The tour guide was so very knowledgeable and answered our 4th grader's numerous questions. Beautiful home with great history. Plan to spend about an hour here. We were walking in town and decided to stop. What a good... More

What a lovely cottage. Four of us shared it for the weekend and it more than met our needs. The gas logs in the fireplace helped warm us and looked awesome. The footed tub would be better if it had a sprayer to rinse with. Having wireless internet would be a plus for a longer stay but over all it... More

This is a great outing if you're in the Apalachicola area. A guided walk around the old house brings to life the history of this little port community, from early days to the Civil War and to the present, all through the fascinating experiences of one family.

The Raney House Museum is easy walking distance from everything downtown. We enjoyed our visit and highly recommend it. This Greek revival home is a great place to learn about life here during the cotton trade era. Interesting artifacts and period furniture. Apalachicola is fulll of history, has several museums, and is an outstanding destination for history lovers.

My girlfriend and I just happened upon this after an unexpected diversion to this quaint town. Both being history buffs we were more than excited to tour this historic home. On the plus side the home was great and our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and related great stories of the home, family, and history of the area. Now for... More

Well worth this "free" attraction. Actual artifacts from the Civil War days. This home apparently the only one left standing after the War. It rained our first full day there, and I'm so glad that we decided to make this museum a stop. We learned alot.
