We come to Aspen to see the Bells as often as possible, we have been coming for twenty five years. This trip we got up at 4 am for sunrise on the Bells. It was gorgeous and we had the place to ourselves. There was ducks and marmots all around. A good bet is the hike up to Crater Lake.... More

Visited off-season; normally this time of year would be closed due to snow. Very few people there, rather than the wall to wall I would expect in J J Aug. Only 18 miles south of Aspen. Really beautiful place. More

The Maroon Bells were awesome! We went early in the day & stayed until the water was still & got some great photographs of the mountains reflecting in the water. More

The views were beautiful at the Maroon Bells! There were trails to hike and plenty of parking. There was a gorgeous lake, the moutains, and a large creek that was so peaceful and scenic. We saw some wildlife on our trip to the lake too. It was gorgeous. More

There is nothing more lovely on this earth than the Maroon Bells and Maroon Lake area. Be sure to roam around the lake and take in the stunning beauty of the Aspen-Snowmass Wilderness. More

about 10 years ago there was construction and parking lot construction that took away from being able to just pull your car up and look up at one of the most beautiful scenes one can imagine. Now days you must search for parking and walk a distance before you can take in this natural beauty. Once there however the beauty... More

when in the Aspen area. These are the most photographed mountains and you will often recognize them in ads once you have been there. There is a lovely walk around the lake also, which is easy. Pack a lunch and enjoy the day there. Also there are some camping spots but check with the Forest Service on availability. During the... More

This is a must for Aspen. I made short drive from downtown thru Aspen Highlands on Maroon Creek Rd. You drive through the Nat Forest for about 10 min to parking lot. Apparently it is free if you get in before 9 am otherwise 10 bucks. The drive itself is very scenic. At the parking lot you can do stroll to... More
