If you have read Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol, you probably remember that many of the scenes took place here, and that masonic symbols are used throughout the book. The building on 16th street -- a bit away from the mall but still very accessible, look for free street parking! -- is quite impressive and was designed by John Russell... More

It is one of the best ways to learn some history about the Scottish Rite. If you are a Freemason you will love it. If you are not, you will learn a lot about Freemasonry. Their Temples, their library and their antiques are very impresive. More

I am not a Mason, so I only know a bit about the history, my guy is a Mason and he wanted to visit this building. The interiors and the details that the guides point as as you go are so impressive. The statues outside have different eyes, and she explained the symbolism of them to me. The repetative themes... More

We found the House of the Temple while searching for a geocache (GPS-based scavenger hunt) in the area. Imagine our surprise after finding this majestic temple on the outskirts of a quiet and pretty residential neighborhood. We came back the next day during tour hours and because my husband is a Mason we were granted free admission. This tour is... More

We toured the House of the Temple and it was an interesting experience. I have 3 ancestors who were Masons, so I was curious about the organization. We have read a lot about the Freemasons and seen some TV programs about them, but that's all we knew. We got to the building early and there was only one other couple... More

Student discount gets you in for only $3.33. Entertaining for the value. Tour was about an hour and you can see lots. Talked about the Dan Brown book Lost Symbol on the tour. Didn't try to hide anything and didn't try to recruit anyone. Little gift shop with books and polos. Can get info about anyone you know that has... More
