The Jefferson Building of the Library is wonderful as ever, but the only food available was a food cart in the courtyard. I had a tuna sandwich and it was good, but I miss the old cafeteria.

The Thomas Jefferson building of the Library of Congress is amazing! I'm so glad we went. The architecture is awesome and the Thomas Jefferson library is a jewel! I could spend all day there!
If you have been to Europe and seen the beautiful architecture, then you know what the Library of Congress will resemble. If you have not, then this is something you should not miss while in D.C. I have been more than once and each time, I marvel at this beautiful building. If you have seen the movie National Treasures, you...

Although the purpose is to provide research to Congress, academia and visitors, the building itself is a marvel.
If you love books this is a must see. What was so surprising was the beautiful architecture-you feel like you are in a building in Paris or Rome.

Amazingly beautiful building. Quite spectacular architecture. We took a free tour of the Library of Congress & learned so much. My children (9 & 12) had a limited attention span for this, but I could listen to the tour guide all day long.
This stop doesn't take long. My students were most interested in seeing the main research room. This is the room you think of when you think of the Library of Congress (Its featured in National Treasure). Overall, this stop didn't take long. I'd devote 30 to 40 minutes to visiting.

One of the docents recommended an eatery that was gotten to by taken a tunnel from the basement of this building to another building. Take the elevator up...

The one that most fascinated me is they have on display the contents of Abraham Lincoln's pockets from the night he was assassinated. His personal...
