Went on a day trip driving from Dover. A little late for the fall foilage due to the big snowstorm that hit the week before but still enough color. Lot of interesting places along the way, and the scenery gets better when you get to the mountains. Lots of places to stop and take pictures. Got to the higher elevations... More

If you love nature, trails and falls.. this is the place to be in the NE. The scenic routes here are amazing. We were here on a day trip but I would say .. we could have spent a couple of more days atleast appreciating the beauty of this place.. there is a lot of stuff to do around here... More

I climbed North Moat Mountain with my husband in August. It was a long hike but so rewarding. Very few others on the trail and the blueberries were everywhere. They made for great snacks. Bring plenty of water, a camera and binoculars. More

Despite the blow that hurricane Irene gave to the entire US eastcoast, southern, central and eastern NH was relatively unscathed by the storm. Most of the storm damage came in the way of flooded streams onto roadways in the "north country" and areas in the White Mountains. Surprisingly there was little tree damage from winds and rapid road repairs are... More

My daughter, 12, and I traveled for a couple of days in the White Mountains and had a great time. I grew up in Boston and we used to go the White Mountains every summer for a day or so or longer but I hadn't been back in so long and I was a bit worried that after trips to... More

We stayed at the Above The Notch Motor Inn in Bretton Woods, NH on Sept 5th. We rode the Cog Railway to the Mt. Washington summit the next morning. It was an interesting trip since we'd never been on a cog railroad before. The motel was very clean, and the owners helpful as well. It's also only a few minutes... More

I was very skeptical when my husband said he wanted to visit the White Mountains. We aren't "outdoorsy" people, so I thought there would be nothing to do. I was wrong! We only stayed 2 days, but I would definitely go back and there would be enough to do for a week easily. The White Mountain Trail is a 100... More
