Growing up this was the spot for family vacations. My favorite areas are Fayette, Munising, Marquette, Iron Mountain...just to name a few. We would always camp at one of the many state parks and this will always be my favorite spot in the world, no matter where I go. More

If you are into the outdoors, love beautiful scenery, waterfalls, hunting for agates, copper, minerals and gems, camping, fishing, etc.-this is the place. This is like a totally different Michigan. We hiked the UP at the pictured rocks national lakeshore and Tahquamenon falls state park. All we can say is HEAVENLY ! The hikes were not too strenuous, lovely woodsy area, awesome falls and breathtaking views of the pictured rocks . A must see wonder of mother nature. More

The upper penninsula of Michigan offers so much for the traveler. The Great lakes are really GREAT. The fall color is much better than New England. If you like light houses no place has a better or more numerious selections. Water falls abound. The people are friendly and love to meet you More

Just returned from Da UP with Boletus galore !!! The high amount of rainfall has not only the rivers at 'flood stage' but also the Crimini, Boletus et al all poking their heads out from the forest floor. More

Born in Munising, Great uncle Everett Morrison started Pictured rocks cruises in early 40's with small boat taking 4 people at a time to see Pictured rocks. Lived on ponit in Grand Marais. Grand Sable sand dunes just west of town. Great fishing in streams and inland lakes. Live in Mississippi now --go "home" at least 2 times a year.... More

we go to the u.p. at least 15 times a year. we have yet to see all of it. i am a yooper by blood and get reborn every time i cross the big mac. on the east side be sure to go to the raber inn in raber. best whitefish, walleye, froglegs, and perch i ever laid tooth to.... More
