Impressive capital building now housing a museum. Visit the senate and house chambers and the former governor's offices. They are furnished as they were at the turn of 1900's. I am not from the area but found it a very worthwhile and interesting visit. More

Too bad, too, because the building is beautiful and beautifully restored. And some of the exhibits seemed fairly interesting. Not a place you would need to spend a lot of time in, anyway, but I was ready to leave within seconds of arriving due to the carping from one of the staff members. The old Florida capitol building, originally built in 1845 and enlarged over the years, has been restored to its 1902 configuration when it housed the Governor, Supreme Court, House and Senate.
