I live near this lake so I decided to go on a drive with friends visiting the area, they loved the openess of the area. And it is a great location to take family photos! More

You can drive around the whole perimeter of the lake, including across the dam. My kids and I spotted a Falcon and its nest. Just a few boaters were out. The lakeside wasn't marshy or murky like many shore lines are. Beautiful Scenery, relaxing, kids loved playing on the water's edge. This was the best lake I've ever been too.... More

This is my home away from home. I've been going to Vallecito Lake for 10 years now. It's my family's favorite place for camping. We just recently got back last sunday from a week long camping trip. There is plenty to do at this beautiful lake, from camping, rving, cabining, boating, hiking, horse trail tours, hunting, fishing, biking, canoeing, dining, and picnicing. I may have missed a few things to do there but I am sure when you get there you will be happy. The water level is good and has been better in the past. Every... More
