I was thinking about my Arizona time and I remembered some friends and I went to Mt. Lemmon in December. The rangers had the road closed at the snow line so we drove back down to the closest parking to the snow line and walked back up. After my friends and I got up in the snow line on Mt... More

The drive up to the top of Mount Lemmon is long and scenic. There are lots of scenic viewpoints to stop and get out of the car. The drive is windy, so be prepared if you get car sick at all. Was able to go up the radio towers at the top (past the ski hill) at an elevation of... More

Really neat drive to the top. Just watch out for the cyclists. They are at every turn and sometimes in the middle of the road. The views are fantastic. Mt. Lemmon is well worth the drive if you like breathtaking views and hiking. More

was staying in Chandler Az for a while and journeyed south to Tuscon and rode Mount Lemmon up to Gate's Pass. Lots of bicyclists and tremedous workout. Lots of good bike shops at the foot of the mountain area and the local college is packed with students bicycling there throughout the week. Hardest 2 hours of biking followed by the... More

We went to check out the Observatory which was closed, but the views and the drive up was magnificent. Priceless find. More

So glad that we made the trip from Tucson hotel to Mt. Lemmon. We got to experience the first snow on the mountain from the day before. The contrast that the snow made on the rocks made some of the views breathtaking. Amazing to go from cactus to Alpines! More

When we left our condo it was 80 degrees and there were people in the pool. Then an hour later, after a gorgeous drive up the mountain at 30 miles per hour, and we were at the top of Mount Lemmon. Sunshine and snow ball fights and skiing and families making snow people and kids sliding down the snowy hills... More

While visiting family in Tucson, we drove up Mt Lemmon and had the most remarkable time taking int he beautiful desert scenery, playing in the snow, shopping at Mt Lemmon Ski Resort and Candy Shop, and viewing the city lights below. I would strongly recommend the drive to anyone. Stop and climb on the rocks, walk some of the trails,... More

Do you like camping? Do you camp often? Or are you looking for a place to camp? Well here in Tucson, it is probably not easy to convince someone that they can find a great camp ground when temperature begin to soar over three digits (100-120 degrees). When temperatures rise over 100 degrees you do not have to camp in... More

Last night I experienced a wonderful "new" attraction in Tucson. Myself and 3 friends took part in the SkyCenter evening program located atop Mt. Lemmon. The program is affiliated with the Univ of AZ and directed by an engaging and of course very knowledgeable astronomer, Adam Block. After the approximate 60 minute drive up the mt ,we met with the...
