Worth a small visit, mostly because of the House of Blackheads. It should be part of anyones old town tour as the heart of the old town.

Not an awful lot to the square but the most important stop would be at the Tourist Information shop which is directly facing the Townhall, everything you will need will be in there, stop and have a good look at the building housing the Tourist Shop it is pretty spectacular. You can book bus and walking tours from here, as...

It is heart of Riga. Place you must visit first. If you speak Russian you can take a guide there. Also it is a tourist bus stop nearby, so you can have 1 hour excursion of the city center and old town, also visit another part of Riga on other bank of river Daugava,
Look out for the outlines of the houses that once stood there in the square, the House of the Blackheads and the old Merchants House.
If you are in Riga, make sure you visit the Town Hall Square. From here you can view the House of Blackheads, depressing looking Museum of Occupation, number of neat houses and if you really look around well, you may find a very ugly soviet style architectural "miracle" hiding near the Town Hall.
Riga is an underrated city! I love the Town Hall Square with the beautiful House of Blackheads and St Peter's Church. A man was playing the piano in the middle of the square when I was there, making it an even more magical experience. Definitely worth a visit!
Surprisingly in a dead-zone of Riga, but the tourist information was great, and the buildings in the square are stunning. Easy to see, almost impossible to avoid, and luckily you won't want to miss this
Full of nice and old buildings and church, truly historical place. Information center is also there, so you can find anything you want there.
I visited Riga with my friend during holidays in May and we had great time while sightseeing Old Town in Riga. It's unbelievable how old all buildings and monuments are there and still in good condition, renovated and well-kept! It's a pleasure to take a lot of photos in that kind of place!
You can walk around from one building...

Nice to see and glad I visited but would not return, not very welcoming felt it was "give us your money and leave"
