I think lot of reviewers haver mentioned here the best view of Budapest and the shopping places and nice walk and everything but I think they are missing one thing is this all happens outside Citadel and has nothing to do with what is inside Citadel which you have to pay extra to go inside. They have a hotel and... More

Definately a recommended place to visit if you are in Budapest. Absolutely stunning views of the City. It is also free which is a bonus. Also plenty of places to buy souvenirs which we found we cheaper than buying elsewhere!

My advice....do not walk up here....it's very steep with hundreds of steps and there isn't that much up here except excellent photo opportunities and a close up of the Statue of Liberty! You can get a great view of hilly Buda and flat Pest, the contrast is stark! a stunning view of the Danube winding its way through the city is... More

We visited Budapest Citadel as a part of Red Bus line tour. Building makes impression as it was designed to terrified Budapest people after 1848 revolution. 1944 bunker takes a ticket to be purchased for HUF 1200. It shows well preserved WWII air defense shelter with some scenes of its historical origin built with manikins of solders wearing Nazi and... More
